Update #4

Greetings, adventurers! This game is now available for purchase at https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/dungeons-and-drinking.

Here's the thing: I loved making this game and I think it's really fun. I think a lot of people would love this game. When the pandemic hit, I sort of found it hard to get behind a "get together with your friends"-type of party game. And now, years later, I find it hard to build up the enthusiasm I used to have for releasing and promoting this great game.

So I just released it. I hope you get it, I hope you love it.

Update #3

Sorry for the lack of updates. This is a game intended for social gatherings so when Covid-19 hit, everything was put on hold. And, unfortunately, that's where it remains. So, if you're reading this because you're wondering why the Kickstarter campaign for this game still hasn't launched, that's the reason.

I'm still very interested in this game becoming a reality one day. I know that there are ways that this game could be a lot of fun, even in a covid-era world, but I'm just not sure it's responsible to promote get togethers at this time so I'm going to hold off until everything settles down.

Stay safe.

Update #2

The next step is launching a Kickstarter campaign. I need to raise a bunch of money so I can print a bunch of copies of this super fun game. Before I launch the campaign I'm told that I should collect as many e-mail addresses as possible. That way, when I launch, I can send out an e-mail to a bunch of people who are hopefully interested in getting the game.

If you're reading this and you haven't submitted your e-mail address, please consider doing so. You can submit it either in the Contact tab or the Home tab.

By the way, it's not official because I didn't want to promote heavy drinking, but the way my friends and I play is that if you lose the game, you have to finish your beer. Feel free to play that way or not. Drink responsibly.

Here's my variant for the "Defeating the wizard" rule.

When you win, no one drinks until you roll.

Roll 1d6

1 - The wizard defeats you, keeps the treasure, and sends you back to the dungeon. You have to finish your beer as if you lost the game along with your friends.

2 - The wizard defeats you and keeps the treasure. You have to take a drink to nurse your wounds but you're not sent back to the dungeon to take the long, sorrowful drink with your friends.

Update #1

Hello, My name is Barn and I made this game. My friends and I have been playing it for a couple of years and it's super fun so I'm working on making it available for other people to play. To get there, I need to do a bunch of stuff first.

The game is done already. The cards are all designed and the instructions are available. I can order the decks from a custom card company but it's really expensive unless I order a ton. So if you want this game for like $70 I could make it happen. I'd like to be able to sell it for a lot cheaper because, even though it's totally magical and definitely the best game you'll ever play, it's just a deck of cards. So, I haven't really looked into it yet but I expect the Kickstarter will probably be about raising enough …

Thanks so much, NIck. The Game Crafter looks like a really good option.
